Indie studio Retro Forge announced during the MIX showcase that its metroidvania action-RPG game, Souldiers , will be released on May 19, 2022. Published by Dear Villagers, the game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One , Xbox Series and Switch.
Souldiers' story takes place in Terragaya, a mystical world full of secrets on the border between life and death. You and your comrades in arms will have to overcome your enemies there if you hope to make it out alive. To do this, you will need to get your hands on the Guardian.
To explore this 16-bit world, you will have the choice between three classes. The scout, able to parry with his shield and counter-attack with his sword, he is however unable to use magic. The mage whose power costs you the price of your life. And finally the archer, necessarily more focused on ranged combat, whose mobility will be the major asset. Each class of course has its own attacks as well as different base statistics. Improving your character will be done through a skill tree, allowing you to shape it according to your style of play.
