A Tecmo Bowl remake was announced for both the Wii and the Nintendo DS. While the DS received Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff, the Wii version was cancelled in favor with developing and releasing Family Fun Football, a title that was thought to more closely cater to the Wii's casual userbase.
