6 must-have tips to start Hearthstone in 2022

Hearthstone stands at the top of the list of the most enduring games in the niche of TCGs thanks to its delicate balancing act between accessibility and technicality. It's the ideal moment to (re)start your card collection and your ascent of the ladder because the new Murder at Castle Nathria set will debut in early August.

Hearthstone has been a free-to-play game since 2014, and it hasn't really ceased leaving its impact on the world of online trading card games. Blizzard's game distinguishes out from its rivals because to its straightforward gameplay, potent RNG, and Warcraft universe in the backdrop. It also knows how to reinvent itself over time with the help of expansions that are consistently unique and, at their core, entertaining.

It's the ideal time to (re)discover the arcana of this collectible card game with the impending release of Murder at Castle Nathria. And you can already take your hand off your money because Hearthstone's key selling point is that game can continue to be played for free as long as you know where to receive free boosters frequently.

You will be immediately immersed in a very well-prepared tutorial when you first start the game, which will teach you the essential game mechanics and laws. Naturally, you can refine all these abilities later, and you'll naturally advance as you play. This guide's primary goal is to demonstrate to you how to acquire cards, which are essential for building more potent decks and include some gameplay strategy tips as well.

Lot of Adventures !

We advise you to review the game's adventures after the tutorial is finished rather than immediately moving on to the ranking matches. You can access them by selecting "Adventures" from the main menu's "Modes" section. There are numerous PVE objectives to complete that involve duels and riddles. The majority of these quests provide rewards (maps, hero skins and boosters). Spend some time looking through these to quickly grow your collection!

If your account is brand new, you'll have to go through the Blizzard site to unlock some free adventures on it.

To do this, log in with your account to the Blizzard Battlenet site, go to the Hearthstone tab, and get the adventures you want for free.

Brawl Battle !

You can locate the Brawl Battle under the "Modes" menu, a weekly-changing game format in which you always receive a pack of cards for your first victory.

Be careful; to unlock this option, you must have a class level 20.

By unlocking level 10 with all classes, you will be able to access Arena mode. This is a game mode where you are temporarily "lent" cards to build a deck. Except that launching an arena run is not free (150 gold), and that it is only profitable if you achieve a score of at least 3 wins for 3 losses.

This is far from easy, especially when you are a beginner.

Be diligent on the daily quests.

In Hearthstone, gold is earned through the reward path, and thus indirectly through the daily and weekly quests. Indeed, you will progress in the reward path by collecting experience, which is mainly acquired with the said quests.

In your logbook you will find a new daily quest each day, and three new weekly quests to complete over 7 days, starting on Monday at 00:00. The problem is that you cannot stack more than three quests at a time. It is therefore crucial not to let your quests stagnate, and to do them every day to get the most out of the gold they represent.

Be careful when spending your gold.

The gold you acquire will be used to buy packs of cards in the shop (100 gold per pack).

Start by buying 10 packs of each expansion. Why? Because Blizzard has implemented a mechanism that grants a guaranteed legendary card for the first 10 open boosters of each expansion. This is a very attractive legendary drop rate, and it would be a shame to miss out.

Using your dust properly.

By disenchanting your cards, you can exchange them for Arcane Dust, which in turn can be exchanged for the cards of your choice. This method is very useful for acquiring unusual cards in a targeted way, but it has its limits, as you will lose out in the long run. For example, disenchanting one of your legendary cards will bring you 400 dust, but creating a legendary from dust will cost you 1600.

So use sparingly, and only create standard cards that will serve you for at least 6 to 12 months, and that are favoured by many decks.

If you are sure that you are only interested in the standard format, you can, however, more spontaneously disenchant any cards that fall outside this format with the annual rotation.

Which decks to play in ladder?

If you are back on Hearthstone and you already have many gold coins and arcane dust, the easiest thing to do will be to take in hand the "top tier" lists of the meta.

On the other hand, if you're just starting the game this year, be careful not to put too much energy into recreating pro decks. Avoid overly controlled decks that are full of expensive legendary cards. Favour aggressive decks, such as the Face Hunter or the Mech Mage. They have the double advantage of being easy to play and cheap.

Progressing through the ranked ladder will provide you with a small package of rewards at the end of each month. These are actually quite meagre, but they're worth it if you have the time to tryhard.
