Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak spreads its novelties in a fresh livestream

In its May livestream, Capcom showcased Monster Hunter Rise 's upcoming expansion, Sunbreak , and its many new features.

New monsters, new mechanics, there was food and drink in this new Digital Event , while waiting for the expansion to be released on June 30 on PC and Nintendo Switch .

Ferocious new monsters to hunt, but well accompanied!

Introducing the livestream, Capcom spoiled us with a trailer full of action and important information.

Of course, the first stars in a Monster Hunter game are… the monsters themselves. And while veterans tended to be bored on Rise , they should face far more serious challenges in its expansion.

First of all, Sunbreak will allow us to leave the rather quiet Expert Rank to move to the Master Rank. The monsters already present in the basic game will thus gain in power and in variants (such as a Somnocanth of ice or an Almudron of magma), but of course will not be alone.

As newcomers, for example, we will have Seregios, a monster well known to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate players . This one will have an annoying tendency to stay in the air and inflict the much hated status of Bleeding.

Finally, we were able to discover the flagship monster of this extension, the vampiric Malzeno. This one will come to feed on the vital essence of the Hunters and inflict a new status: the Plague of Blood. As long as you deal damage to the monster, your life bar will continue to regenerate. But if the Malzeno catches you under this status, it will turn it into a true embodiment of nightmare!

If you are a mainly solo Hunter, be aware that Sunbreak will still allow you not to be totally isolated. Companions Hunters with their own weapons and skills will indeed be able to lend you a hand in the context of certain specific quests.

Show off your Switch Skills

Besides monsters and Companions, there are of course many new features for players, with the famous Switch Skills introduced in Monster Hunter Rise .

You may also be delighted to learn that it will be possible in Sunbreak to alternate between Switch Skills at any time during a fight, without having to return to camp to do so. With this in mind, you can save two sets of Switch Skills that you can swap as you see fit.

New Switch Skills for each type of weapon will of course also appear. Capcom will show introductory videos of these by the time Sunbreak is released . The fights should thus gain greatly in fluidity, whereas they were already not lacking in the basic game.

Hunters and Hunters of all stripes therefore have reason to rejoice in view of the arrival of Sunbreak , which will be released as a reminder on June 30, simultaneously on PC and Nintendo Switch.
