You control a family of characters one at a time, and when your character dies, you choose who his or her successor is, whether it is a barbarian son of yours who has OCD, your daughter who became a ninja even though she can't see well, an assassin who is fighting for the gays, or a miner who wants to collect gold! Traits are randomized each time upon death, leading to multiple playthroughs with 35 traits, each character will be unique.

In early access for more than two years, the promising sequel to Cellar Door Games' excellent roguelike finally unveils a PC release date in a colorful trailer.

So prepare your motley genealogical line to die in a loop in torturous procedural dungeons this month on Steam or Epic Games Store!

Seven years after the excellent Rogue Legacy (currently offered on the Epic Games Store), Cellar Door Games has decided to offer a sequel in early access. A laudable decision, but which did not necessarily make good press as soon as it was released in this format.

At the start of its early access, Rogue Legacy 2 clearly lacked finishing. The independent studio therefore took its time to develop a sequel worthy of its illustrious heir. This indeed takes up the idea of controlling different descendants of the same lineage in order to restore the glory of yesteryear to the ancestral stronghold.

For this, it will be necessary to put into play the life of each generation, represented by different classes with features all crazier than each other, in order to accumulate gold and, ultimately, cleanse the family estate of any evil form. (not without difficulty, you will have understood).

After two years of development, Cellar Door Games therefore considers itself ready to release Rogue Legacy 2 from its early access period. See you on April 28 on PC to see if this long wait was worth it! For the time being, there is still unfortunately no question of a console version. Maybe after a generation or two.
